Reflective Essay
Having a web presence sets a statement of your character. A photo can be interpreted as someone being shy, humorous, always serious, or authoritative. Once a web presence is established it sticks with them forever. What you put out there no matter if you delete it or put it on a private setting, it will always be there.
For my web presence, I established it to stay connected with old classmates, and different events in college. My first site I join was MySpace, and i was a little skeptical about it. I solely joined because my friends were on there, and it peak my curiosity. When I did finally become a part of Facebook it was only months after everyone caught on to it. I also just joined there solely to stayed in contact with my friends from various high schools I had attended, and didn’t know there number. Facebook has provided me with updated information on the people I grew up with, and lost contact with over the years.
The dominant images on my web presence are pictures of me with friends, places I have been, and images that highlight my current college experience. The same images represent the person that I am, and my personality. My pictures with friends show my crazy outgoing side. My photos with my family show my love for them and their importance to me. My pictures of college show me taking in the experience and showcasing it to everyone.
My web presence would probably show that I’m trying to appeal to those of my same age bracket, who share a similar experience. That is of someone who just graduated high school, and starting their journey in college. The shared values presented in my web presence are of education and its' importance as well as having fun to keep you stress free. I take pride in all my accomplishments, and I value the time and love of my friends and family.
If someone was to take a glance at my web presence that would think I am a respectable person, who carries themselves in a proper manner. They would not be hit with inappropriate photos of my half dresses or drunk. I can see myself using my web presence in the future with a few changes to my current presence. I would probably use it advertise my business and my services that my business provides. I would make sure to keep in mind what you put up cannot be taken down. What is shown will give a person who never meet you or know nothing about you a glance at the person you are.
